1. L’Dough V’Dough - My after-school club bringing teens and Holocaust survivors together to bake challah bread and share stories

I named this club “L’Dough V’Dough,” playing on the Hebrew idiom “L’Dor V’Dor” meaning “from generation to generation.”

Participants have expressed to me that making challah adds a creative and hands-on aspect to the experience.

Braiding the strands of challah, like arms intertwining, adds to the survivors’ message of continuity.

Wow, this is really powerful stuff. It’d be great if something like this could come to my school.
